PARK AND GARDEN PLANTS DEPARTMENT
Our School, which was established with the decision of the Higher Education Council dated 25.01.1994, started education in an apartment building with the great support of institutions and philanthropists in Ortaca district in the 1994-1995 academic year with a total of 38 students consisting of the Tourism and Hotel Management program and the Greenhouse Program.
Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University, Ortaca Vocational School, Landscape and Ornamental Plants Program, which operates under the Park and Horticulture Program, has been accepting students since the 2000-2001 academic year. In our department, education and training activities are carried out by 1 Dr. Instructor It is carried out by 2 teaching staff, including a member and 1 lecturer. Our students gain the knowledge and skills needed by the sector with theoretical and applied courses in the Landscape and Ornamental Plants Cultivation Program. Students who successfully complete their education in the department are entitled to receive the "Technical Staff Title" with an associate degree diploma in the field of Landscape and Ornamental Plants Cultivation Program.
 
LANDSCAPE AND ORNAMENTAL PLANTS GROWING PROGRAM
The main purpose of the Landscape and Ornamental Plants Breeding associate degree program; is to train highly qualified individuals who have the qualifications needed and sought by the sector, qualified, talented, experienced, entrepreneurial, dynamic and have an interprofessional knowledge-coordination base. The students of the program will have the necessary knowledge and experience as a result of the theoretical and applied vocational courses they take in 4 semesters and the internship they will do. Individuals who graduated from the Landscape and Ornamental Plants Breeding program with these equipment, can work under the supervision of landscape architects or agricultural engineers in the construction, maintenance and repair of landscape design areas and the cultivation, protection and marketing of ornamental plants to be used there.
Students who graduate from this program; can work as a professional technical staff in public institutions, municipalities, landscape architecture project and application offices, construction companies, nurseries producing and selling ornamental plants, and greenhouses, as well as establishing their own application and production companies. In addition, at the end of the 4th semester, they can switch to four-year undergraduate programs with the DGS (Vertical Transfer Exam).
